Downtown Overland Park Partnership hosting money-saving fire extinguisher inspection service
Overland Park, Kan. – Extinguishers require yearly inspections, which can be costly with trip fees. Have your business or personal extinguishers inspected in downtown Overland Park for just $3.50 per tank. The Downtown Overland Park Partnership’s safety committee is hosting their second public, area-wide fire extinguisher inspection service on Tuesday, October 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Campbell Fire Protection will be providing the inspections and maintenance services under the farmers’ market pavilion at 7912 Marty Street in downtown Overland Park.
If it’s time for your extinguishers’ six-year maintenance, that service is $14.50 for a 5 lb. tank and $16.50 for a 10 lb. tank. If extinguishers are more than 12 years old, a hydro test is $12.95.
No reservations are required; simply show up with your tank(s). Inspections are quick. Please have a check, cash, or credit card ready to pay the company directly.
As part of the event, a representative from the Overland Park Fire Department will host a free, 30-minute presentation, providing tips on keeping your buildings safe and things to look for that may be hazardous. Please RSVP at (913) 642-2222. The presentation will be held at the Downtown Overland Park Partnership office, 7315 W. 79th Street, at 12:00 noon. Feel free to bring a lunch and eat during the program.
The Downtown Overland Park Partnership safety committee was formed out of desire to prevent additional fires in the historic area. The group consists of downtown merchants, Overland Park fire department staff, and downtown building owners.
